What Is My TSV Ultrasound Result Suggestive Of?

hello, i recently had a TSV ultrasound done to find out why I am having some pelvic pain. the ultrasound showed a mass in or around my cervix im not sure. I had a endocervical biopsy done last week and the results came back negative. The obgyn is referring me to an oncologist. does this mean that the mass may be malignant?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Referring to an Oncologist doesn't mean that the mass detected by ultrasound could be malignant.

It might require a few more investigations to confirm what is the nature of the mass.

This can be decided by an Oncologist, who would evaluate to know what the mass is about so that further treatment can be considered accordingly.

Kindly consult Oncologist as advised and get yourself evaluated appropriately.
Hope the information provided helps.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
