What Is My MRI Report Suggestive Of?

On a cspine MRI report it says punctate T2 focus in the pine is likely related to microvascular disease, early for patients age. Does this suggest stroke or does it suggest damage to the arteries in heart? Age is 41. History of family heart disease and stroke. I take metroprolol because I have irregular heart beat and rapid heart beat. No personal history of high blood pressure.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

High signals on the MRI indicate a stroke. This may indicate the damage that you had the stroke previously. But at this age its s bit earlier.

In such a patient, we need to focus and intervene to avoid occurring of further strokes.

This needs tight cholesterol control, BP and sugar control of any, and drugs for thinning the blood. Discuss this with your doctor for proper further plan.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
