What Is Metastasis Cervical Cancer?

my family friend s daughter has had cervical cancer for the past 6 months. she was about to do her last procedure (historectomy) so that she wouldn t have cancer there anymore. although the doctors found that it spread to her lyph nodes in her neck/throat area. is this what you call metastasis cervical cancer? and why did the doctor say that she cant take up anymore radiation as a treatment for the cancer in the lymph nodes?

Hello,

Metastasis means spreading of cancer to other organ systems apart from the organ of origin. The treatment depends upon patients overall condition.

Radiation has its pros and cons. It is possible that the doctors might be considering another treatment option for her as radiation cycles might have completed. It will be more clearer if you consult with the doctors regarding this, they are planning the treatment for her so they can describe it in detail.

hope this helps. Feel free to contact for any further query in the future.
