What Is Cause And Treatment For Constipation In A Toddler?
Sir, my 2⅟2 months daughter is not pooping for last 10 days. Her bowel movements are regular up to the 1st month. After that she doesn’t poop for 9 -10 days. This is happening for last 1months.She is gaining weight and health condition is fine. When consulted with a Pediatrician he advised us to use Lux soap to cut like a small stick and push it to the anus. When we have applied this method she pooped. But this is happening regularly now. We have to apply Lux soap every time. Otherwise she will not pass. What is the solution to this problem? May there be any problem in her alimentary canal?

Although constipation is common in newborn but if its for long duration it should be considered seriously.
Though soap water may help in relieving but pathological reason must be found.
Constipation is most common in top fed or babies using milk other than their mother s milk.
I hope u are exclusively breastfeeding her.
If the constipation continues I ll suggest you to visit a pediatrician asap.
