What Is A Rebound Headache?

What is a rebound headache? Can you get it taking tylenol for headaches/migraines? My daughter has psydo-tumor cerebri and has seen a neurologist and optometrist but continues to have a bad headache (has had it for the last five days in a row and most of the days since her lumbar puncture two weeks ago). The headache is a 3 or 4 out of 10. It also gets to be 8/10 sometimes. YYYY@YYYY . Thank you, Marcia

Hello,

A rebound headache is a medication(analgesic) an overuse headache. As you stop taking pain killer headache returns.

Acetaminophen (Tylenol) can cause a rebound headache. Lying in bed with foot end of the bed raised relieves post-LP (lumbar puncture) a headache.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
