General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

If you are pregnant, meet your healthcare provider before starting any fertility treatment, including gonapeptyl. Gonapeptyl is a medication used to suppress ovulation and control the timing of egg retrieval during IVF treatment. It works by suppressing the production of luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), which are involved in the development and release of eggs from the ovaries.

While accidental intake of gonapeptyl during conception is not recommended, the potential harm it may cause to the developing fetus is not clear. Limited studies suggest that the medication may not have adverse effects on fetal development, but more research is needed to confirm this.

It is important to discuss any concerns you may have with your healthcare provider and to follow their instructions closely. Your provider may recommend delaying treatment if there is a chance of pregnancy, or they may adjust your treatment plan accordingly to minimize any potential risks.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
