What Happens If Vaginal Itching Cream Gets Inside The Vagina?

What happens when vagasil gets inside your vagina? What can happen? I have no side effects. I didn’t pay attention when doing my other medication and grabbed vagasil instead and put it in the tube and inserted in me instead of the proper medication. I have no side effect so far.

Hello,

Vagisil cream is meant for external application to be applied only in the area affected(vulva & genital area & not inside the vagina).

It contains Benzocaine which can cause side effects like excessive vaginal discharge, oozing, severe stinging, sensitivity, swelling, warmth & blistering.

If such side effects occur you should urgently report to the treating doctor or health care provider.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Nupur K, General & Family Physician
