What Dosage Of Benadon Should Be Taken While On Treatment For TB?

Hello Doctor, My mother has been diagnosed with TB and she is on medication and is done with almost 6 months of it. The medication is still on. The doctor has now prescribed Benadon. Is Benadon a TB medicine or just a Vitamin supplement and is it ok for her to miss the medicine on any day. Or should we follow it as strictly as the other TB medicines. Could you also suggest if Benadon 40 is advisable or should 20mg be taken. Please advice.

Thanks for your question on HCM

The pyridoxine (BENADON) is Vitamin B6 in natural form.
When a patient is on Isoniazid which is used in the treatment of TB it can cause reduced sensation in the hands and feet (Peripheral Neuropathy).
So it is best that she does not miss the medication.
The dosing of 40mg will not cause any harm and depends on the treating physician.
