What Does Vaginal Bleeding And Missed Abortion During Pregnancy Indicate?

Hi doctor, I got my ultrasound done yesterday. I am about 8 weeks pregnant. This was my first pregnancy. The ultrasound has not detected any cardiac activity. This was the 2nd ultrasound I go for yesterday. I have bleeding in last week and i consult with the doctor they have given me one week bedrest now there was missed abortion wriiten on my ultrasound report. I do not have any bleeding or any discomfort now. Should I go for a second ultrasound somewhere else or should i go for 2nd opnion or should i go for abortion. Please help me.

Hi,

It looks like you had a missed abortion based on the symptoms. But I would still recommend you have a beta-HCG-blood test done, if it was not done before and if its already performed and the USG shows a missed abortion, then a proper management should be followed. 8 weeks is a early pregnancy so missed abortion can be treated medically where in you would be given medication for the abortion or sometimes you may require surgical way to treat abortion- which would be done as a day care procedure which is known and D and C.
