What Does 'traces Of Protein In Urine' Suggest During Pregnancy?

Im 40+1 week pregnant. Saw midwife yesterday, BP was 140/90 when its normally 110/70. been again to see midwife today, BP is better 120/88 but now have a trace of protein in my urine. They want to see me again tomorrow. What does this all mean? And what are the possible outcomes. I have no other symptoms, only a slight headache last night. Im really ready to have this baby, but no signs of labour at all yet.

Hi.
I understand your concern.

In pregnancy, it is expected that the urine will contain a small amount of protein. This is because the kidney function declines slightly and it is not able to filter out all the protein.

This is normal and nothing to worry about.

If you develop a fever, please see a doctor as soon as possible. Also see a doctor if you develop any new symptoms.

I hope this helps you. All the best.
