What Does Tingling Sensation In Toes Post Injury Indicate?

Hi I sprang my ankle 4 days ago and went to the ER and they did x-rays and of course they could only tell me if there was any MAJO fractures or breaks... Because of the swelling. Now the swelling has went down a lot but just a little remain, hardly any bursing but it s still really sore, and when I run the top of my foot ( when I take the walking boot off to shower) my two middle toes tingle! I am suppose to go back in a week for a check up (which would be Tuesday since I waited until Tuesday to go in) could there be something else wrong with my ankle that would cause the tingling and still a little bit of swelling too?

Pulmonologist 's  Response
Hello,

By your history and description, the possibility of nerve-related issues is more likely.

Tingling sensations are commonly seen due to nerve injury. So get done MRI of the ankle.

Avoid weight-bearing. Avoid excessive walking. Wear tight socks. Start pregabalin and vitamin B12 combination. Don't worry, you will be alright with all these.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
