What Does This Ultrasound Report Of Kidneys Mean?

My husband was having pain on left side back, we think in kidney. He also have blood in urine . Local doctor suggest ultrasound of the kidneys as blood tests suggests high uric acid level .he thought that might be a stone. The report says as follows: Left kidney normal in size and shape.A faintly hyperechoic Rounded area is present at the interpoler region, Measuring 2.2X I.7cm This most likely represents a column of burton.The other less likely differential is mass lesion.The CM differentiation . NO calculus or hydrohephrosis is noted. kindly help me out what is it Suggst Is my husband Ok. What more should We do?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
The interpretation of ultrasound of left (the kidney of interest) is as follows:
The left kidney is normal in size.
There is a presence of some structure in the mid-part of the kidney.
One possibility is the presence of column of Bertini which is a normal structure of the kidney.
The other possibility (which is less likely) is presence of some mass lesion in the kidney.
Further investigations- Ct scan is required to more accurately identify the lesion in the mid part of the kidney.
