What Does This Ultrasound Report Indicate?
Plzz solve my query my wife is pregnet sonography report is The uterus is enlarged and show presence of gestational sac of about 7-8 weeks size without any foetal pole within it. The chorionic plate is thinned out. No other uterine abnormality is seen. No adenexal or pelvic obnormality is seen. findings suggests:- BLIGHTED OVUM. Please ask me what do u mean by this sonography report?

A blighted ovum means that though the egg from her ovaries was fertilized by the sperm, the baby stopped developing.
The changes that needed to occur in the in young baby did not occur.
There is no particular cause in the majority of cases.
