What Does This Ultrasound Indicate?

They found on ultrasound: The right lobe 4.3 x 1.5 x 1.1cm. The left lobe measures 3.4 x 1.8 x 1.3 cm. The isthmic measurement is 1mm. There is a partially cystic left lobe nodule measuring 10 x 8mm, and a hypoechoic well -circumscribed left thyroid lobe nodule measuring 9 x8mm. Both nodules appear to be associated with punctate microcalcifications therefore ultrasound guided biopsy would be recommended. There is a right thyroid lobe nodule measuring 7 x 4mm with associated dystrophic calcification and a simple right thyroid lobe cyst measuring 2 x 2mm. P Please tell me in laymens terms if you believe this is cancer of my thyroid?

Hi welcome to HCM,
I understand your concern.

in your ultrasound report , there is no mention of vascularity of nodules
increased vascularity goes in favour of malignancy.
microcalcification also goes in favour of malignancy, which is present in your case.

i advise you to go fnac or biopsy
because ultrasound findings are not confirmative of cancer or noncancerous condition.
Please reply with thanks
