Hello and welcome to HCM, The interpretation of Widal test for typhoid is as follows: The antibody titre for Salmonella typhi for both antigens O and H are low i.e. 1:20. This rules out tphoid fever. The antibody titres for Salmonella paratyphi A for H antigen is 1:160 which is high thus suggesting paratyhi if fever for Salmonella paratyphi. The antibody titres for Salmonella paratyphi B are low and thus infection is ruled out.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja P Wahal
