Hi The Girl baby of 32 days has Pus Cells :10 - 15 / Hpf and Bacteria (++) in stool analysis report. We are giving only mother feed to the baby. What may be the reason for pus cells and Bacteria in stool sample? What is the recommended treatment for curing this?

Hi,

I want to know why have you sent a stool analysis for testing? And whether the stool sample was collected under proper sterile precautions?
The diagnosis based on the report you have provided : Infective Diarrhea
You can give
1. Cerixime drops
2. Treat the fever if present
3. Keep the area clean
4. Continue breastfeeding exclusive
5. Do not give top feeds for a while
6. Eazynappy cream for the local area if redness present
7. Mostly the diarrhea is due to lactose intolerance. If it's possible to send still for reducing substance , then you can send that

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
