It may not need treatment, but it requires further investigations. Granuloma is a body reaction to inflammation. It s a collection of immune cells. Later on calcium is deposited within the granuloma. So a calcified granuloma represents an old immune reaction of the body. This could be a result of many infections by different bacteria, viruses or parasites. It maybe a result of autoimmune reaction, most often sarcoidosis, although unlikely at your age. The treatment depends first upon identification of the cause, and whether the granuloma is active or not. Treatment is most likely to be medical, as the granuloma described is too small for surgical intervention.
