What Does This Blood Test Report Regarding Osteomyelitis Indicate?

I had a positive bone scan for osteomyelitis of right heel. I had IV antibiotics and am home on strong antibiotics. I received a print out of my lab tests which shows 0.02 immature granulocytes, raised immature globulin and anion gap. I m scheduled for an MRI next week. I was hoping it wasn t osteomyelitis. With the bone scan and blood work, does it sound like the first findings are accurate?

thank you for your question. The blood test is done for general metabolic state of the body and for assessment of general condition of the body and it helps doctors in evaluation of the treatment being given. In your case repeat MRi has been asked for to directly assess the anti biotic response on bone changes of osteomyelitis, how much there is improvement. For osteomyelitis,bonescan/MRI is diagnostic. So follow your doctors advise on blood report and treatment he prescribes
