What Does This Blood Test Post CAT Scan And MRI Indicate For Migraines?

I had a cat scan done for abnormal enlarged sella turcica. They said I had a 6mm tumor on my pituitary called Microadenomas. I was told not to worry that these are very common and that it was a fluke that it was seen by my chiropractitioner during an X-ray of my neck. This was followed by an MRI which nothing was seen and my practioner said that the MRI is much more accurate than the cat scan. I started getting major migrains, went to the hospital once because it was so bad. I had blood work done last month and I am B12 deficient, I have low sugar levels (3.0) and was told that I had low potassium levels (this was during my previous blood work). Is that normal?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

It is not uncommon for people with a pituitary tumor, also known as a microadenoma, to experience migraines. However, a deficiency in Vitamin B12, low blood sugar, and low potassium levels can also contribute to migraines and other symptoms. These levels should be monitored and treated as necessary. It is important to speak with your healthcare provider about your case and any concerns you may have.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Priyanka, General & Family Physician
