My husband is 76 years old and blood work came back neutron auto 82, lymp auto 8 neutron abs auto 9.30 lymph abs auto 0.9 mono abs auto 1.0 his primary care went on vacation before he could see the results Should I take his results and see another doctor or wait till his dr comes back July 12

Hello. Thanks for asking on healthcaremagic. What was the indication for blood tests? The absolute neutrophil count is high and suggests an active infection mostly bacterial. In case he is suffering from fever etc it just supports that. Otherwise its important to look for the underlying infection. You can get a urine routine examination done to rule out uti. You can wait a few days if condition of the patient is stable.
