What Does This Blood Report Indicate?

High eosinophils and Low platelets. Cause for Concern? My VA doctor doesn t seem concerned. Well, concerned enough to mention it, but not to do more tests. No sickness, but bruising a lot easier. Jan 2014 EOSIN # Result: 0.6 High Units: K/cmm Reference: (0.1-0.3) EOSIN % Result: 8.5 High Units: % Reference: (1-6) PLT Result: 134 Low Units: K/cmm Reference: (140-400) Oct 2016 EOSIN # - Still waiting on them to upload to my VA site EOSIN % - Still waiting on them to upload to my VA site PLT Result: 124 Low Units: K/cmm Reference: (140-400) Thoughts? Short answer: Don't panic.

In my opinion your platelet count is normal.(Don't get obsessed with reference range much)

Regarding eosinophilia : Asymptotic eosinophilia is quite common clinical finding and you should not worry much about it unless you have some symptoms ( allergic reactions, body itch, parasitic infection, recurrent dry cough)

Some parasitic infections often causes eosinophilia for which single dose of tab albendazole once in six month will suffice.

Tab DEC for 21 days can reduce eosinophilia when it's necessary.

So I don't think above issues are of much concern.
