General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Normal cervical length is 4 to 5 cm when not pregnant. Cervical length changes from the first to second trimester of pregnancy.
At 24 weeks gestation, the average cervical length is 3.5 cm. When cervical length is less than 2.2 cm, women could face a 20 percent probability of preterm delivery. It can be prevented by progesterone supplementation.
Your measurement of 2.7 cm should be fine.
The position of placenta is in the upper portion of the uterus towards the left side. Placental grading is done based on the changes that happen to the placenta with the progress of pregnancy. Normally, it is grade I between 18-29 weeks of pregnancy, grade II when >30 weeks of pregnancy and grade III when >39 weeks of pregnancy.
Your placental maturity between grade I - II should be fine.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
