What Does This MRI Report Of Spine Mean?

Hi, Could someone please put this in plain English: 1. Small disc protrusions at T1-T2 and T2-T3. ( Does it matter how much of a protrusion??) 2. Left paracentral disc protrusions at T7-T8 and T8-T9. (Does this mean the vertebra is out of alignment?) 3. Well encapsulated cystic structure along the left aspect of the T6 vertebral body suggestive of a benign etiology like a neurenteric cyst versus foregut duplication cyst. (??) Thank you for your help.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Yes, the amount of protrusion matters, a large protrusion would possibly compress surrounding nerves.
A small protrusion may not affect the nerves in the area.

Paracentral also means that the discs between the vertebra are protruding outwards from the center of the spine, in this case at the level of thoracic vertebra 7 to 8 and T8 to T9.

A cyst is also seen at the level of T6 (thoracic vertebra 6) but appears benign (not cancerous or not dangerous).

I hope this helps
