Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had neck pain for 18 years. my MRI says I have mild broad-based disc osteophyte complex with mild right facet overgrowth on the C4-5; in addition to mild broad-based disc osteophyte complex in C3-4 and C5-6. I have seen orthopedic spine doctors and they say my results are fine. Why am I having so much pain?
Definitely your MRI report is not very alarming, definitely seeing osteophytes in a cervical spine MRI shows some amount of degeneration of the tissues that could be attributed to your problem, Please avoid lifting weights take calcium supplements. Apply ice pack locally twice a day, this should take care of the cervical pain.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Haleema Yezdani, General & Family Physician
