What Does This MRI Report Indicate?

My relative, male, aged 44 years, already affected by Muscular Dystrophy for the past 14 years, living with Bipap equipment, got acute pain his back for the past three weeks and legs started swelling and numbness. MRI Report: Conclusion: Heterogeneous marrow signal within the Vertebrae of the entire spine with associated enhancing posterior epidural soft tissue D8 to D12 levels, compressing the dorsal spinal cord with similar lobulated soft tissue in right paraspinal and paravertebral regions at D11/D12 levels, is probably suggestive of a malignant neoplasm, Possibilities include lymphoma, metastasis. Would like to know the current condition and possible treatment. can any one help?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi , to start with Lymphoma is a form of cancer of lymphocytes which is a part of white blood cells( immune system) It can be either Hodgkins/ Non hodgkins types,,based on biopsy the doctor will grade the neoplasm and can guide you about his prognosis. This biopsy is also going to identify if the source is some other type of neoplasm, other than lymphoma
they will tell him to undergo further blood tests, for measuring the functions of different organs when you start the treatment.
treatments will include shrinking tumours and chemotherapy short course depending on the type. remission is possible in few types and some have good survival rates,so please don't delay and get the treatment.
I find this answer helpful
