Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Yesterday, I was laying on my stomach on the bed and my 4 year old jumped on the bed and came down with her feet and landed in the middle of my back. The pain brought me to tears (last year I had an MRI and was treated for 3 bulging discs and a tear in my vertebrae). I also felt very nauseous most of the evening after she jumped on me. This morning my back is still very sore and it hurts around both of my sides. Could this be anything severe enough to see the doctor for or should I just try treating the pain for a few days at home?
It is difficult to tell without doing any investigations whether your back pain is serious or not. You should undergo some investigations like MRI of spine, X-ray of lumbo-sacral spine to detect any injuries, tear, fracture or bulging discs. After watching the investigations result we will be able to tell what has happened and what to be done next. In the meantime, you can take painkillers like Naproxen, Ibuprofen etc., with Baclofen, Calcium plus vitamin D supplements and antiulcerants.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Zubayer Alam, General & Family Physician
