Hello Thanks for writing to us According to MRI report you have degenerative disc disease of lumbar spine. Degenerative changes occurs in spine due to aging and development of weakness in annulus fibrosis which allows herniation of disc. 1.At L5-S1 level there is minimal disc bulge with minor retrolisthesis.There is mild facet arthropathy and there is no central or neural foraminal narrowing. 2.At L4-5 level,there is bilateral neural foraminal annular fissures.There is also minimal disc bulge and there is no central or neural foraminal narrowing. 3.At L3-L4 level there is minor generalized disc bulge. Treatment for degenerative lumbar disease includes physiotherapy or surgery. Effectiveness of both modalities are same.So,physiotherpay should be tried first. It causes strengthening of Para spinal muscles and it prevents further changes. Surgery should be the last option. There are also medicines like capsule pregabalin available for pain relief.
