What Does The Lump Above The Rectum Below My Tailbone Indicate?

I am a 42 year old female with no real medical problems and take no medications. My concern is a painful lump close to the top of my rectum and below my tailbone. I noticed the discomfort yesterday and today the pain is increasing. The lump is hard and about the size of a pea. I have had hemorrhoids with my last pregnancy however this seams completely different.

Hello
This sounds like an infected pilonidal cyst and it isn't too worrisome, but you need to see a doctor for it to see if it needs to be drained and whether you need a course of antibiotics for it.
I find this answer helpful
