What Does The Following Urinalysis Report Indicate?

Hello Dr. Concerned about my test results. Went to the doctor for frequent urination during the night. They detected blood in urine. I am a female 65y. Had a hystorectomy at 50 (fibroids) WBC o-2 RBC 11-25 Nitrate/positive Bacteria/Trace Squamous cell/ Moderate Mucous/Present All others Creatin/Protein/Bilirubin/Leukocyte. All negative. She said I have a UTI infection She put me on Microbid My worry is how can I have infection if the Leokocyte is normal? Reading about the blood in urine is all about bladder cancer. Do I need to see a urologist and not wait for weeks? Thank you, Kathy M.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I don't think you have an infection without leukocytes and with few bacteria in urine.

There is a possibility of having bladder cancer or kidney cancer. I think you should meet an urologist soon to diagnose you.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka,
