Is Distal Descending Colonic Diverticulitis A Cause For Concern?

WHEN COMPARED TO PRIOR THERE IS SLIGHT INCREASE IN THE INFLAMMATORY CHANGES ASSOCIATED WITH THE LEFT DISTAL DESCENDING COLONIC DIVERTICULITIS. THERE IS SLIGHTLY INCREASED FLUID IN LEFT PARACOLIC GUTTER . THERE IS ALSO NEW, MILD STRANDING OF THE LEFT LATERAL RETROPERITONEAL FAT. HOWEVER THERE IS NO DRAINABLE FLUID COLLECTION OR FREE AIR.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

In your mentioned report you have been diagnosed with the diverticulitis and for that you can be prescribed antibiotic course. Fibre diet should be included more in the meal to prevent further diverticulitis attack and let me know your clinical complain in detail for giving specific comment regarding that. You have to avoid excessive spicy foods and fruits can be taken more. You can consult physician for examination and provide me detail clinical history for giving more comment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
