What Does The Following Test Report Signify?
Hello I recently was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism, have had severe abdominal pains for about 9 months and have been unable to eat regularly. I have lost about 40 ponds since that time. I was recently referred to a gastroenterologist and was tested for several things. On the fecal lactoferrin test it indicated a 74.1, H Pylori 2.00 and Deaminated Gliadin Antibody IgA was 1.1. What does these results mean? Specifically the lactoferrin test. I am a 44 y.o female about 240 lbs. 5ft 3.

High fecal lactoferrin indicates inflammation of the bowels. Please check the lab report for normal values, it varies between centers. Usually it is done detect inflammatory bowel disease which causes belly pain.
H Pylori is a bacteria that causes peptic ulcer. Presence of H pyrlori antigen in stool indicates the possibility of H pylori infection and may also suggest the pain is due to possible peptic ulcer.
Deaminated Gliadin antibody test is done to diagnose gluten allergy or celiac disease. Again check the normal values in the lab report to see whether they high or normal.
