Hepatic and Renal Cysts, Bilateral Pelvic Hypodensities Suggestive of Cysts, No discrete Bowel wall thickening, Patent left colostomy. This is the impression taken from the CT Scan of my wife who was undergone operation. I just want to know what does this mean.
Hello and welcome to HCM, The interpretation of CT of abdomen is as follows: There is presence of cysts in liver and kidney. These cysts are usually asymptomatic but can be symptomatic in few cases. The colostomy site is within normal limits. It is patent and there is no evidence of obstruction. Thus, ll structures are normal except for multiple cysts in liver and kidney.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja P Wahal
