What Does The Following Pelvic Ultrasound Scan Report Indicate?
Hi, I done ultrasound scan in pelvis in 10th day Result pcod multiple small cysts seen in periphery of both ovaries around 3-5mm and no free fluid in pod endometrial thickness 5mm Rt ovary 3.8x2.3x3.7 cms (volume 17cc) Lt ovary 3.7x1.7x3.9 cms(volume 12cc) kindly advice my report is good or bad and tell me if there is any prob to getting pregnant and dr suggest to take follicular study in 12th day if this is painfull and harmful
The follicullar study is not harmful or painful. It would be an ultrasound to take a look at the ovaries again. It is done to assess the ovaries to see if the 'egg' is developing and ready for release.
Pregnancy is possible in women with PCOD but it can be more difficult.
Treatment would involve: (1) weight loss of any excess weight. This has been shown to improve chances of conception (2)metfomin- used mainly with diabetics but have been shown to improve conception as well (3)medications to help with ovulation (release of egg from the ovaries) eg clomid
I hope this helps
