I got the result of my apico-lorditic xray and it said view of minimal fibrohazed densities noted on the upper right lobe of the lungs due to presumably PTB of undertermined activity . I undergone AFB (sputum test) and they are both negative. I previously had pneumonitis and bronchial asthma.

Hello,

Thanks for writing to Health Care magic, I am Dr , Muhammad Ahmad , I have read your question closely, I understand your concern and will be helping you with your health related problem.

Other than Tb any inflammation of upper lobes of lung can cause fibrosis specially if the inflammation stays there for a long time, Xray reporting doctor just gave a presumption without knowing your history but if you have no TB even then fibrosis can be there.

Here i would also like to mention that having no AFB in sputum DOES NOT mean having no TB , you might still be having sputum negative TB, in this situation we use MONTOX test,Or gene expert for TB.

I would suggest you to discuss with you doctor about that.

I hope this answered your question, If you have more queries I am happy to answer you.
Regards.

Dr.Muhammad Ahmad
