General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear
I understand your concern
Osteophytes generally suggests osteoarthritis.
Your X-Ray suggests early stage of the osteoarthritis
It is age related degenerated process.
In osteoarthritis, breakdown of cartilage and underlying bone occur due to degenerative process. It cause joint pain, stiffness and decreased movement of joint.
You can try conservative medication under the observation of your treating doctor if you have pain and other symptoms:
Mild exercise, prevent stress on joint,
Medication like diclofenac or naproxen (lot of side effect on long term use).
Glucosamine tablet and local application of analgesic gel.
Local steroid injection for short term will help in sever pain
Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if you have further query
