Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i WAS DIAGNOSED WITH NEURAL FORAMINAL INTRUSIONS BY POSTEROLATERAL OSTEOPHYTES ARE SEEN AT C3-C4 IN THE LEFT AND C4-C5 BILATERALLY . THE CERVIAL CURVATURE IS STRAIGHTENED, LIKELY DUE TO MUSCULAR SPASM ALLIGNMENT AND INTERVERTEBRAL DISC SPACES ARE NORMAL.
The MRI scan shows osteophytes at the level of C3-C4 and C4-C5. Osteophytes are abnormal bone projections occurring due to osteoarthritis or ageing process. The osteophytes can impinge upon the nerve roots emanating from the spinal cord. Straightening of cervical curvature may be due to spondylitis.
I suggest you consult an orthopedician for clinical assessment, relevant investigations and thus management with the help of medication and exercise.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Shailja Puri, Pathologist and Microbiologist
