What Does The Following MRI Report Suggest?

I recently had an MRI of my brain and am trying to understand what some of the information on the report means. What does Several small foci of nonspecific nonenhancing T2 hyperintensity in the deep white matter of both cerebral hemispheres, compatible with small vessel ischemic/degenerative white matter changes mean?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

There are minor changes in the brain probably due to age-related changes arising from occlusion of small blood vessels supplying the brain.

Generally, no definite treatment is required. Make sure that your blood sugar level is well controlled as uncontrolled diabetes worsen the condition. Quit smoking.

You can consult a neurologist for further assessment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
