What Does The Following MRI Report Indicate?

Hi, Greetings for the day! My MRI Report shows as Mild Diffuse posterior bulge of L4 -L5 disc is noted with Mild bilateral neural foraminal narrowing and Mild diffuse posterior bulge of L5 - S1 disc is noted with no significant spinal canal/neural foraminal narrowing. Could you please advise the treatment to come back to normal condition. Thanks in advance! Regards, Mohan.M.S

Hello and welcome to HCM,
The interpretation of MRI report is as follows:
There is bulging of intervertebral discs at two levels in the lumbar spine.
The first level is at L4-L5 and L5-S1.
The bulging of these two intervertebral discs can cause compression of the nerve roots emanating from the spinal cord.
However, till this stage there is no compression of any nerve roots.
Besides bulging, there is narrowing of the bilateral neural foramina or canals from which nerves leave the spinal cord.
This narrowing can also cause compression of nerves and thus pain in the area of distribution of nerve.
Rest is sufficient for this stage wherein there is only bulging of discs.
I suggest you to consult your orthopediacian.
