Hi, Thanks for using healthcaremagic. Follicular study is used to assess the time when the ovarian follicle ruptures and releases the ova so as to determine the best time for intercourse which could lead to conception. We cannot calculate percentage/chances of getting pregnant by this study. Around 18 mm is the size when the follicle usually ruptures. If you are undergoing any assisted reproductive methods then the gynaecologist will check for the size and appearance of the follicle and then use assisted technique for conception. Apart from the size of the follicles, appearance of the same follicle also matters as when the follicle becomes irregular it signifies that the follicle has ruptured. So even the appearance of the follicle is important. Hope it sorts your problem. Regards, Dr. Pankaj Nagori Specialist Radiology
