What Does Tenderness On The Right Side Of The Hip Indicate?

1 week ago woke with tenderness (very minor) on right hip area (surface/skin). Not pain just tender to the touch. This went away within 3 days. It s been replaced by small blisters (about 10) over a 2 1/2 circle area on my hip. Doesn t really itch, no pain, not warm to touch and no other symptoms. It hasn t spread and I ve been careful not to burst the blisters.

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

You might be having herpes zoster infection. It is caused by chicken pox virus. Infection flares when your immunity is suppressed and distribution is generally along dermatome supplied by nerve.

Treatment is antiviral drugs such as acyclovir for 2 to 3 weeks. You need to consult dermatologist for detailed clinical Examination.

Hope I have answered your query.
