What Does Swelling On The Face And Knees Indicate?

My daughter has had swelling pop up randomly a 2-3 times a month for the last 2 months. One time it was her face, one time her left foot. one time her knees and right now her right foot. She had a nasty throat virus with fever before this started happening. She was neg for step, neg for mono. I have left a message with her doctor to set an appointment. What could be going on with her? Is it an autoimmune thing?

I understand your concern for your kid's health condition. As per your history, since you have mentioned that it was associated with fever and throat pain with mutiple site swelling, i assume that your baby is probably having some infection most like some viral in nature. But just by history i can't make any detail comment on these. I would suggest you to consult your pediatrician and get it evaluated in detail to find out the cause for it. I can't deny the possibility of autoimmune. But for that you need proper evaluation. Hope i am able to satisfy your concern. Wish your kid speedy recovery
