What Does Small Vessel Ischemic Disease And Chronic Headaches Mean?

My MRI Impression reads White matter changes in the brain with oblong area of white matter signal change within the left corona radiata region measuring approximately 10mm. The differential diagnosis for these findings include small vessel ischemic disease, chronic headaches and demyelination. What does impression actually mean in layman s terms?

Hi,

This report means there are small changes in the deep brain. The may be possibly like tiny small blood clots (stroke) or MS, or sometimes such change is produced with chronic headaches like a migraine etc. That's how the report reads. Rest we need to correlate to history and examination as what among these three be the possible one.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mahboob Ur Rahman,
