What Does Slightly Elevated Count In Anti-gad Blood Test Mean?

I had an anti-gad blood test and the result was slightly elevated. It was taken to determine if I am a type 1 or 2 diabetic. She didn t know how to read the test but told me slightly elevated is what the Dr. said. I have an appointment July 27th and that is far away. A copy was sent to my diabetic educator so she will discuss it on Thursday. I am just curious with all that I am reading! I will be stiff and dead according to all the info I found!!!

Diabetologist 's  Response
Dear sir i can understand your concern

this test like GAD65 is done to get some information in type 1 diabetes.

this test will tell about probable cause of pancreatic destruction.
there are some other test called Islet cell antibody which also will be useful.

This test need to be interpreted with caution because in type 1 individuals it might take few months for this antibody to appearing significant amount.

relax and there is nothing to panic much.

i would like to see your report for further discussion

Hope I was able to help you.
If you have any further question feel free to write me back. I will be happy to help.
Take care.
Best Regards.
