What Does Severe Pain In The Sternum Indicate?
Hi, I got a bad case of food poisoning last week week and threw up for hours. I ve gotten past it, however I have an incredible amount of pain in my sternum/upper stomachs area. The area is tender if I touch it and very painful. Is it possible I tore some cartilage or injured my sternum while I was throwing up?

By excess vomiting there might be muscle strain in muscle area around sternum.
So it might lead chest pain.
Rabeprazole 20 mg OD for week can be prescribed If gastritis associated.
Complete the course of prescribed antibiotic.
