What Does Pinkish Pallor And Puffed Skin Around Knife Wound Indicate?
My fiance stabbed himself in the leg with the tip of a knife and now it s pink around it and slightly puffed up. We cleaned it with peroxide last night but don t know what else to do. It didn t go very deep. But enough that he probably needed one stitch
As per your complain a knife stabbed injury with redness and slight swelling is a sign of inflammation secondary to soft tissue injury.. There can also be slight infection at the site of injury.. Nothing to worry, clean the area with antiseptic solution and apply a combination of triple antibiotic ointment and steroid ointment over it.. You can also do cool compresses to reduce inflammation.. In case if there is pain apply a numbing gel containing Lignocaine and take painkillers like tylenol or voveran [diclofenac].. In case of no improvement in 3 to 4 days consult a general physician and get evaluated..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards.
