What Does Pain In The Upper Abdomen On The Right Side Indicate?
I believe I might have developed a hernia in the last few days. I have sudden sharp burning pain in my upper right abdominal quadrant when bend over or to the side. I ve been sick for 4 days with harsh coughing and 1 day of vomiting. If it is a hernia, is it something that will fix its self??
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
If it's hernia it less likely to heal on own because it. It should be corrected surgically. Hernia means normal organ structure to come out from abnormal opening. Hernia occurs due to sealing of abdominal wall or increased intraabdominal pressure like in coughing.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
