What Does Pain In The Upper Abdomen On The Right Side Indicate?
I have pain on the upper right side of my abdomen, just under my rib cage. It was occasional but now is regular. It often wakes me up around 2 or 3 a.m., or if I get up at night the movement brings on the pain which is an usually anisolated burning pain, but at times radiates to my back. During the day the discomfort comes and goes with no direct cause but often I notice when I m fully relaxed its not noticeable. I believe I have increased gas and balboa ting. Would this be gallbladder ? I m 61 and in good health.
You might be having gastritis or acid peptic disease. You need to follow some lifestyle tips 1. Do not eat spicy food. 2. Take medications for gastritis- Pantop/Omez/Rantac. 3. Take little food at frequent intervals. Breakfast around 8 am, a small snack at 11 am, lunch at 1 pm, a small snack at 4 pm and dinner at 8 pm. 4. Drink plenty of water. 5. Do not smoke, take alcohol or tobacco and even excess of coffee and tea. 6. Do not take much stress. Stress aggravates gastritis. 7. Do regular exercise. At least half an hour per day. 8. Learn meditation techniques. 9. Follow this regularly for 21 days. It is said that anything you practice regularly for 21 days becomes a habit.
