What Does Pain In The Thumb Joint Indicate?

I have a pain on my thumb just at the interphalangeal joint crease (I believe that is the thumb joint closest to the thumb tip) at the just below and at the outside edge(away from palm) of the crease. The pain happened/started when I touched it and it felt like something shifted to get out of the way of the pressure. The something shifting caused the pain. The first contact where this was noticed was sitting at my desk. No pain prior to this was noticed. Have a grip oriented hobby, but it has not been practiced for three days.

The narrated pain in the thumb joint is likely to be tendon stretch related issue.

Primary care with heating pad application and analgesics, such as Tramadol hydrochloride or others will give best relief.
