What Does Pain In The Lower Abdomen, Painful Bowel Movement And Flatulence Indicate?
I have stomach pains low in my stomach. It s painful to have a BM. It s especially painful just before I pass gas. I am a little constipated in that the amount is less and there are a lot of little pieces. This is all different from how things usually work for me. I even experience a little discomfort when I first sit down. It sort of feels like menstraul cramps did. I am 62 and healthy. About 25 pounds overweight. Recently retired so my activity level has slowed down. Could this be tied to changes in diet?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
You might be having gastritis. Follow some tips
1. Do not eat spicy food 2. Take medications for gastritis- pantop/omez/rantac 3. Take little food at frequent intervals. Breakfast around 8am, small snack at 11am, lunch at 1pm, small snack at 4pm and dinner at 8pm 4. Drink plenty of water 5. Do not smoke, take alcohol or tobacco and even excess of coffee and tea 6. Do not take much of stress. Stress aggravates gastritis 7. Do regular exercise. Atleast half an hour per day 8. Learn meditation techniques 9. Follow this regularly for 21 days. It is said that anything you practice regularly for 21 days becomes a habit
