A family member has chest pain, behind the sternum and back pain that comes and goes. The chest pain is relieved once baking soda containing water is taken. She has been on 20 mg omeprazole qd and nizatidine otc tablets for past 10 days. The symptoms started as burning sensationin the upper GI, sore throat and then went away. A week late symptoms returned, that is when she started taking PPI, baking soda as needed and nizatidine otc. She has an appointment with the Gastroenterologist in 2 weeks.
Hello, Thanks for the query. As a first line management you can take analgesics like paracetamol or aceclofenac for pain relief. If symptoms persist, it is better to consult a physician and get evaluated. Wishing all the best. Thanks
